Winds of War & War and Rememberance The Love history of a family and how the build up to World War II and the demands and trageties affect their marriages and families due to circumstance. I appreciated the historical research required to be accurate to history. It is one of the few Movies based on a novel which is 100% true to the novel. Both reach the screen intact ,with no Hollywood sensationalism added nor huge amounts left out.
I remember once watching ShoGun being on TV. The original broadcasts I missed because I was working 3-11. So when it was on on my weekend off My daughter and I sat down to watch it. Now understand the original was 5 episodes of two hours each. This was a 2 hr total. One of us took a bathroom break and heard the other say hurry you just missed 300 pages. It was so condensed that it lost meaning. I read the book and I was confused. It could not have meant much to those who had not read it.
